Star struck

This morning as I arrived at my office building, I thought I saw someone who looked like Jacelyn Tay. Okay, then i thought, "Aiya, many people look like Jacelyn Tay...anyway, why would she be here?! Must be someone who looks like her."

I proceeded straight to the lift lobby. Guess what, so this Jacelyn Tay lookalike came along as well, and upon a closer look, I realised, "It's no lookalike. She is Jacelyn Tay - the Mediacorp artiste.". Well, I'ld like to think I'm quite accustomed to meeting celebraties -- the trick is to not overeact, stare, gawk, or do anything too overt. But, of course, must give them some recognition lah...or else their slightly higher than average egos might be bruised.

Hence, in a cool, understated manner, I just flashed a friendly smile, as if she's one of the strangers I meet regularly in the building. Obviously, she returned the smile quite readily. Celebs are a pretty interesting bunch. They just have that aura that draws attention towards them. It's like, in a crowd, they would stand out, and our eyes just naturally gravitate towards them to wonder, "Eh...who is this ar?".

Jacelyn, in person, is not very tall. Or maybe she was wearing flats and I was in heels. She is expectedly slim and fair, very fair, porcelain white fair. She looked like she did piled on the make-up, so can't tell if her complexion is really as good as it should be -- given she wrote about a health book and all. Her english not so good though. Heard her say, "I'm at the lift" when she was really in the lift. Ah...see...the life of a celeb, every little thing is scrutinzed by the public -- and what a cruel and harsh public we tend to be. Anyway, her english not so bad la, she did correct herself shortly after. She even graciously signal to let her co-workers exit the lift first. Plus points for not putting on airs.

Hmm..I've also met Zoe Tay at Great World City once....she's a very petite lady. Even tinier than my best friend =S I've also met Fann Wong once, on my way home from SGH one traumatic night. My car pulled up next to this huge car (either the Porsche Cayenne or similar) with the license plate with the numbers 38. Ever since then, I thought she had such a great sense of humour. Oh, and there was another time I've seen Ann Kok driving another big car (the Lexus RX300/350 or similar) and singing her heart out regardless that other people were watching.

Now, when can I meet Elvin Ng (whom my bro used to play soccer with...why didn't he ask for his number??!!) and Qi Yu Wu??? And their fabulous ABS....*drool*

This reminds me, I used to suggest hanging out outside Caldecott Hill to wait to sight celebraties...especially when friends seem to run out of ideas as to what to do. Of course, i meant it as a joke, and maybe a dig at all those crazy fans out there.
