Status Update: Which Blog-Host?

I've been using Blogger for about two months plus now. I'm generally quite happy with it, except for a few complaints.

1. There seems to be a timelag for my blog to update, whenever I make changes. But then again, I'm wondering if this has got to do with my PC setting instead. Updates should be instant wat....?!
2. I can't seem to upload a photo for my profile without a photo-host. Well, not that it's very difficult to do...but just some constraints...and er...not so straightforward lor. Well, maybe it's better I don't put my mug on the page anyway.
3. There is no way I can do secure posts (unless I restrict access to my blog in totallity)...and I have an urge to grumble about work....aaargh!

Other than the above, it's very friendly to use, has most of what I want, and abit more plus points than Blog-City, e.g. can plaster music from radio.blog.club quite easily, nicer graphics, etc.

Recently went back to Blog-City to look for an entry. Then, I discovered w.e.f. 1 Jan 08, they are going to charge all their users. This means my blog will be deleted after 31 Dec 07, if I don't subscribe with them. First emotion felt...sad. Second, slight panic. Third...bo chap.

Sad because...what about the wealth of stuff I blogged about in the past...deleted in cyber space. Then not so sad, because while I was a Premium User, I managed to back-up lots of stuff, just that I don't think it's complete. But, anyway, I've about 9 months to look into this.

Final decision: It is at Blogger (Free)..I'll stay...for now.

PS: The analogy of blogging is like building a home is really quite apt. E.g. Buying furniture to decorate house = Building the Blog with different widgets & interesting stuff. Changing Blog Host = Shifting Home.
