Made my day!
Last Thursday, I attempted to travel down to Alpha Singapore at Thomson Road, Goldhill Centre, to pick up the Planetshakers tickets. I finished work early that day, and was out-of-office by 5pm. Alpha office closes at 6pm.
Bad news. I was caught in a very heavy downpour. There were floods in many areas at the Thomson/ Novena area. I had to drive through three points where there was flooding. I couldn't assess how high was the water, but I think water levels were around half way mark or more on the tires. Good news. The car didn't die and survived the treacherous waters. Not-so-good news. The car is currently shivering whenever it's on idle mode at traffic junctions. A real annoyance, and I'm quite sure gotta spend some money to get it repaired.
The best part was, after negotiating through those flooded areas, I couldn't get to Alpha in time. I also realised I didn't have their contact nos. and so couldn't confirm if there were any more Planetshakers tickets available for collection. In the end, I didn't go there afterall. I focused on getting to my eventual destination unharmed instead.
I comforted myself by saying that I'll just try the Free Admission Queue come Thur/ Fri. Afterall, they are just a band, why should I get so hung up about definitely making it there. If I make it in, well and good; if I don't, that's fine too.
THEN....
Strangely, on Friday morning, I received a call from Alpha. Someone actually called to ask me if I was going to pick up the tickets I had reserved. I was like, you mean, I still have tickets?! Good news. Their office hours was extended to 8pm that day, and would be open for 2 hours on Sat. Which means, I can collect my tickets!
The timing couldn't be more perfect. I was on half day leave to attend my bro's graduation. And so was able to pick up the tickets, before going for my dental appt. Hee hee...I didn't even need to make a special trip down on Sat.
When I got there, three teenagers were in front of me. One girl was desperately trying to find the name she registered under. For a moment, I thought, hmm...I look abit overaged for this event. Shortly after, another guy appeared after me, he looks kinda overaged too. Haha...so I'm not too old for this.
Anyway, I went 'cuz I was told I could still pick up tickets for the Thursday event. Yet, when I arrived, I realised, there were tickets still available for Friday's event. Which means, I collected 10 + 10 tickets. Whee! I wanted to jump when I collected the tickets. But, I thought that would be kinda act-cute, and just decided to tell the lady who handed me the tickets that, "You made my day!". I think she was amused. She didn't know how much trouble I had gone through to get these tickets.
